The tradition at SYC carries on this summer with sailing lessons offered to kids ages 8-18 of all abilities. The program emphasis is first and foremost FUN, based on a proven curriculum. Accomplishment and mastery of sailing skills is our goal for every child who comes through our program. Some of the skills covered are: rigging, points of sail, steering, sail trim, knot tying, docking, safety, capsize recovery, and racing. These skills are taught through a combination of classroom lessons, land drills, on the water practice, and activities that utilize these skills through knot tying relays, scavenger hunts, club races, regattas, and much more. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
* Membership at Saunderstown Yacht Club is not required to participate.
